The California Restaurant Foundation hosts the ProStart Cup each year. More than 250 California high school students are competing for scholarships. It is a two-day, high-stakes culinary arts and restaurant entrepreneurship competition. The hungry and talented teens have been preparing for months to cook three-course culinary creations and pitch innovative restaurant concept ideas to an esteemed panel of experts - think Chopped meets Shark Tank! This is more than a cooking competition – it’s a life-changing experience! Imagine being 16 years old and pitching a new restaurant concept to a panel of restaurateurs…or having a crowd of people watch you as you put the finishing touches on a three-course meal.
