Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson

Show update: Dr. Tyson's Long Beach talk was first announced as Search for Life in the Universe. He'll now present Astronomy Bizarre. The date, time, and your tickets stay the same. It's still two hours of Dr. Tyson live on stage, now on some of the strangest things in the universe. For ticket questions, contact the Box Office.

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, the astrophysicist who directs the Hayden Planetarium in New York City, brings Astronomy Bizarre to the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center on Thursday, February 11, 2027.

The list of strange objects in the universe is long, and some of it is scary: black holes, dark matter, dark energy, white holes, wormholes, and multiverses. In Astronomy Bizarre, Tyson works through that list and takes on one more question: are we living in a simulation?

Tyson hosts StarTalk and wrote the bestseller Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. His talks use slides and video throughout, and he keeps them current with the latest discoveries in astrophysics.

Tyson is the fifth head since 1935 of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.

Tickets start at $49.50 plus fees.
