Walden
Walden by Amy Berryman makes its Southern California premiere at the Beverly O'Neill Theater at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center from Wednesday, August 25, through Sunday, September 12, 2027, presented by International City Theatre.
In the near future, Stella and her fiancé, Bryan, wait at their remote cabin for Stella's estranged twin sister, Cassie. Raised by their astronaut father to become NASA scientists, the twins took different paths: Cassie has just returned from a successful moon mission, while Stella left NASA behind. When Cassie arrives, old conflicts reignite, and the sisters must choose between a life on Earth and a future in space, with humanity's fate in the balance.
Written by Amy Berryman and directed by ICT Artistic Director and Producer caryn desai. Walden premiered on London's West End in 2021 and opened off-Broadway at Second Stage in 2024, earning nominations for the Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Play and the Outer Critics Circle's John Gassner Award.
